Dehati Aurat :: First repercussion of Rahul Gandhi Mindless Remark

Hours ahead of his first one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan’s PM, is believed to have made a disparaging comment about Indian PM, calling him, a “Dehati Aurat”. 

It is most tasteless, insulting, village politician like, uncultured, derogatory, offensive remark by any Prime Minster to another Prime Minister  I have ever came across. This remark came from Pakistan Prime Minister after Sh. Manmohan Singh rightly describe Pakistan as Epicenter of terrorism of Indian sub-continent.

In this video you can see Pakistani Moderator "smile" over the report describing this "Dehati Aurat" remark. This remark was made when the reporter & Ms. Barkha Dutt were invited by Nawaz Sharif over tea. However Barkh Dutt denied listening such remark. 

Listen carefully rest of observation by Pakistani reporter which is very important. He observed that after Rahul Gandhi's untactful handling his own Government which lowered Prime Minister position in eyes of not only Pakistan but all over the world, it would be not wise to talk with present Government/PM who is behaving like Dehati Aurat. Talks might be resumed after elections are over in India. 

While some were wondering why Nawaz Sharif would make such a tasteless comment, even if it was off the record, others felt that this was yet another sign of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh‘s weakness that anyone could mock him including his own party Babalog. Why one enemy like Pakistan would miss this opportunity to mock the Prime Minister in particular & India in general. 

The total blame lies on Rahul Gandhi & top confused leadership of congress party at 10 JP for uncalled for insult of our Prime Minister that too by Pakistan. It is not question of Rahul Gandhi intention but his immaturity in handling such issues when Prime Minister was on Important tour.

The soon this party who has leaders like Rahul Gandhi must go.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev

नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः ।
न चैनं क्लेदय्नत्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः ।। 

‘इस  आत्मा  को  शस्त्र काट  नहीं  सकते,  आग जला नहीं सकती,

जल गला नहीं सकता एवं वायु सुखा नहीं सकती ।'   (गीता : २.२३) 

The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon,

nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water,

nor withered by the wind".

All most all Indian must have heard this verse from Bhagavad Gita. But I doubt hardly any one, except few, knew real meaning of this famous verse. If even few thousand people of this nation knew real meaning of above & related verses, who could have enslaved us? How come we remained slave for nearly 1000 years? Perhaps in heart of our heart, we never believed the great saying of Krishna. We, Indian, go on quoting verses upon verse of Gita but never, I dare to say NEVER, believe in them. Even today if some one dare to stand against injustice, the whole crowd gathers to advise him not to do so in pretext why he should risk his life, by risking his life what he will gain. This is defeatist attitude shows that we, Indian, want to keep Gita in our Temples only & never try to bring them in day to day life.

But "NO",  all don't fall in this category of salve minded, timid & unbelievers. Few knew real meaning of this & related verses, even if they had read Gita or not. But by heart they knew that "The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind".  Among such persons names of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev, stand apart like Everest among all other peaks.

All know that who were these great sons of India, what they did & how they scarified their life at the alter of their beloved country. I will not narrate their biography which is not scope of this post. I would like to bring only two incident of their life which will fully show that they knew real meaning of above verse by heart.

Sh. Bhagat Singh: Time : Last & Final Day of their life, Place : Lahore Jail

Warden comes to take Bhagat Singh for final journey on that fateful day. He finds Bhagat Singh engrossed reading a book. The warden thinks it as religious book which read at this moment of life. But this book was not Gita or Ramayan or Gurugranth Sahib but book on or by Lenin. He asks Bhagat Singh to get ready. Bhagat Singh takes a page marker, places it at the page which he was reading as if he was about to come back & resumes reading from that page. as if the death was nothing for this man but just a journey to another body.

He knew the real meaning of Gita even without reading it.

Sh. Rajguru: Time : Evening of last night, Place : Lahore Jail

A old inmate who loved these three young men comes to Rajguru with a mango & says "Puttar, I have nothing to give you as parting gift. I have got a mango. Please take it tonight when ever you want. Here is the mango." Rajguru replies "Baba, Thanks but you know what might be going inside me. I don't feel taking anything. Please take away your mango." But that old man leaves that mango at one corner with request if Rajguru feels he may take otherwise in morning he will remove it.

When all the three Heroes were taken away to gallon, that old man came to Rajguru cell & found the mango as it is laying where he left it. Knowing mental condition of such inmate, he picked up that mango. He was utterly & pleasantly surprised to find that Rajguru had already sucked the mango fully & then inflated it in original condition, as small boys do with balloon, to give surprise to his inmate friend. Just think this man was going to be hanged next morning but he was as joyous as if he was going to get married next morning.

He knew the real meaning of Gita even without reading it.

Because few knew that "The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind" we stand free today" our country is free today. Will it remain free?

The whole India bows in their respect at feet of these & such "Real Knowers".

As you know our TV NGO News Channel is the best Channel in the universe. Its telecast reaches in every corner of the universe including Dark holes. Only Mars does not allow its telecast due to technical reason. TV NGO Moderator: Welcome viewers in this special live telecast debate over “The Leader’s” rare speech in parliament at the economic situation in the country. It is rare in the sense 1) He spoke after lots of demand in both houses over economical situation. 2) Perhaps it is the only speech where he added something of him own over written, sorry, typed but unsigned speech. Whatever may be the case, he delivered speech. Now no one can say him Mauni Baba. We will discuss points he raised or answered in this special & Breaking Telecast. We have selected three India fame personalities to participate in this debate. One each will answer on behalf of the side they represent. As you & they know, we don’t allow participant to turn TV debate in house. Your moderator will ask one question at a time & debaters may answer that in 1 or 2 sentence. TV NGO Moderator: - As I earlier observed that this time “The Leader” has added some thing on his own over writte..err. sorry typed speech. Your take.

Ruling Side Debater: - The Honorable Madam always vet his speech. But as she is ill, “The Leader” has taken advantage of her illness & add something on his without bothering how much effort Madam has to make in damage control.

Opposing Side Debater:- Here the cat is out. But we maintain “this addition” which shows that “The Leader” too want some freedom. Perhaps he may free himself and join us one day.

Aam Debater:- Our “CLEANER” is answer for all problem. We will clean “The Leader”, Madam & opposite side once our cleaner becomes operative.

TV NGO Moderator:- Don’t you think The Leader addressed the parliament very late? As per general perception he should have spoken earlier. Your take.

Ruling Side Debater:- No it is not late at all. He spoke by 1330 which is not late at all. At the most you can say he spoke at lunch time. And more over, Do you think Madam will allow him to speak so often? It is not done in Ruling Side. We are very democratic side unlike opposition where many leaders are fighting over who should speak who should not.

Opposing Side Debater:- The Leader never speaks on his own. My learned friend rightly said that actually he has taken advantage of Madam’s illness & spoke. Next time Madam should take care of it. We also taken advantage of madam’s illness otherwise when we press him to speak, he hides under Madam’s burqa.

Ruling Side Debater:- If object over Burqa word. It is un-parliamentary.

Ruling Side Debater:- He is very much right. We all have full faith in Madam. But this opportunistic opposite side does not have faith in her. They should learn from our great heritage & history. We have always respected & had faith in foreigners. But then you can’t teach manners to this Desi educated side. Actually none of their leader had education in foreign. They must have full faith in her only then our great country will progress further.

Opposing Side Debater:- We oppose this faith word. It belongs to a particular fundamentalist who always demand faith. We charge “The Leader” for his intentional use of word “Faith” to appease a particular religion. We are against all appeasement.

Ruling Side Debater:-  I will divide my answer in two parts 1) He is right because in no other country Leader is called Chor. In other country they simply catch him & put behind bar but never call him Chor. 2) Our Leader is most honest Leader this country ever had. He allowed all Ruling partners including some opposing partners to plunder. Hence by insulting Leader who not only honest but was instructed to remain honest in distribution, they are actually insulting Madam which is very unfair.

Opposing Side Debater:- Tell me why we should not call him Chor? Agreed he gave chance to some opposing side too. But he never generalized it as he had generalized in ruling side. His selective section is the proof of his dishonest. He is adopting policy of “Andha baate, Apne-Apne ko De”

Aam Debater:- We will do everything inclusively. If we find anyone including our Boss showing favorism even in this type of thing, we will beat him with Cleaner’s rode.

Ruling Side Debater:- He is quite correct. How he can be custodian of those office records which are secretly kept under supervision of Madam & are buried his closest relative’s farm land. Under no rule he can viisit a private property owned by a small farmer.

Opposing Side Debater:- This is something funny. Though I agree what Ruling Side Debater says. But his inaction has created a situation where whole country is looking on every one of us with suspicious eyes. He has disgraced us. He could have find any waste file & hand it over to caged parrot so that they could have mentioned that in status report. We demand his resignation. He must resign from Twitter & face at least.

Aam Debater:- In the given situation, The leader can use our Cleaner to find a waste file.

TV Ngo Moderator:- Let us admit Aam Debater suggestion is most constructive suggestion ever heard on a TV Debate. I hope the other participant will also maintain such high standard in debate. Now The Leader said that “It is not job of government to control Onion price & we should not stop work in name of corruption.” Please one by one.

Ruling Side Debater:- The leader’s this remark shows that why he is known as greatest economist. It government will control onion price, from where party funds will be generated? Nobody thinks that before criticizing him As far as corruption is concern we all know “Corruption is nothing but state of mind”. So why all work should be stopped over something which is just state of mind.

Opposing Side Debater:- Even if we leave onion price rise on the pretext that we too get party funds from such activities, we can’t ignore corruption. It is only corruption which has not allowed us to be benefitted in the same way as Ruling Side has benefitted in this golden coalition condition.

Aam Debater:- From our side we announce that if we are given a chance to rule state, we will rule in such a coalition condition so that all get their due equally as Cleaner cleans all without any discrimination.

Suthoot Gold Finance offers Loan to Government against Gold

In Parliament & TV and Social Media, Economic experts observed high fiscal & current account deficit had send rupee & stock market trembling. Though some expert laid blame on Modi's 15th August speech & some said it was all due to BJP, while few indicated Governments inaction & policy paralysis for falling rupee value & stock market index. What so even may be the reason, Nation was worried. Amid noise, opposite parties feared that perhaps 1991 situation would be back soon where Government had to pledge Gold to save the situation. It was heard that Sh. Anand Sharma, Commerce & Industry Minister, floated an out-of-box idea to help to contain the widening current account deficit(CAD) by monetising 500 tonnes of Gold at the current value. It stared high speculation.

As the news was electrifying, The NGO Reporter stared its own investigation. A flying bird informed us that Suthoot Gold Finance Company has offered loan to government against gold at very attractive terms. When we contacted their corporate office to to confer this news, they neither confirmed not denied. On the condition anonymity, their VP confirmed the news unofficially. While extending cup of tea to this reporter, the VP disclosed further that by their timely offer, India will not face same humiliation as they faced in 1991. Hence their offer is very much Nationalist. Moreover their rate of interest are lower than IMF. Plus Gold would remain in the country, of course in Suthoot Finance Company Safe Vaults.

When this reporter asked that do they have such huge vault to keep gold safe, the VP smiled & said that currently they don't have one but as soon as government sends its confirmation, they will apply a long term loan of 50 lakhs from Government to finance a suitable vault for gold.

Government side has yet to confirm the news.

Can Hakim Rahmani cure Economy

When whole India was discussing over poor economy & steep fall or rupee, it is reliably learnt that some worried party men &  partners met Madam Supremo & urged her to call an emergency meeting to discuss this problem. Inspite of being ill after taking Mid-day food in parliament canteen, she swung into action & called meeting immediately. Though Mauni Baba, being busy in his silent meeting, could not attend the meeting but Son of India, Sanju Jhajhu, Damad-e-Watan came immediately. Even Chidu too came leaving his never ending press conference. Raja, though not informed by Patel due to some "Political reason" got the wind of meeting & rushed inside & immediately started accusing Patel for being Gujrati.

It was very open meeting. Everybody gave his input. Raja was more vocal & critical of Government. Sanju Jhajhu countered him saying it is all due to Modi. Had he not challenged Mauni Baba that day, the faith on Government would have not eroded so early inspite declaring Damad-e-Watan as a small farmer. Immediately Damadji demanded all facility of a small farmer. When Chidu reminded him that small farmers have to pay some nominal interest on loan while Damadji was availing loan at 0% interest, Kanoornchi jee suggested to amend rules so that Damadji may be provided loan @ (-)10% interest interest. 

Madam Supremo urged all to maintain decorum & start giving suggestions for cure for economy impotency & making it as rock like hard & also stop its Early fall. Speaking in the last, Raja suggested to take help of "Sadak Chaap Hakim Rahmanis" who are expert in treating "Impotency & Early Finish" by his "Special Oil". He informed Madam Supremo "Special Oil" can make it like tough capable of remain standing for days together and better than "Viagra"  as suggested by "Harvard Educated spokesperson Jhajhu. He argued that "if this "Special Oil" can treat a impotent like him, why it can't treat Economy." He further informed the house that he has personal experience of it. Listening this a fight ensued between US/UK educated advisers & Doon Educated advisers. Amid noise & confusion, it is heard that as this "Special Oil" could not cure Dagu Raja's "One sided Tilt" how it would treat Indian economy.

The meeting sin-die for indefinite period of due to members coming in "Well of the meeting" but it was seen many members along with "Son of India" secretly escaping from back door in search of "Sadak Chaap Hakim Rahmani" to get treatment their "personal problems".

Shayar-e-Azam "Mirza Ghalib" : A Tribute from Layman

hazaaro.n Khvaahishe.n aisii ki har Khvaaish pe dam nikale;
bahut nikale mere armaa.N lekin phir bhii kam nikale;

I have a thousand desires, all desires worth dying for

Though many of my desires were fulfilled, majority remained unfulfilled.

nikalanaa Khuld se aadam kaa sunate aaye hai.n lekin;

bahut be-aabaruu hokar tere kuuche se ham nikale;

We had heard of Adam’s expulsion from Paradise

With great disgrace I came out of your street.

Wah, Ghalib Saheb Wah ! 

Who else can write such lines. None can. Who can be in this world, be rich or poor, atheist or believer, literate or illiterate, belonging to any class, specially Hindi-Urdu speaking person, who might not have recited these lines once or more in his life even if he does not knows about Mirza Ghalib.  

Only Mirza Ghalib can write like Mirza Ghalib. No one can ever wrote like him either before him or after him. By his imitable style, by his choice of theme, by his choice of word, by his unique configuration,Mirza Ghalib changed the impact , the course of Urdu poetry, Shero-Shyari,  forever. His all ghazals can be song in simple tune. 
Urdu Poetry, in particular & Urdu Literature in general into can be divided into two parts. 1. Pre-Ghalib period & 2. Post-Ghalib period. This is my division. You have right to agree or disagree. But I am sure you can't disagree over the revolution, the furor, the reach to the last men of the society cutting across all religious, social, class, caste & creed barrier, Ghalib created by his Shero-Shyari. The whole India & its neighboring countries, Hindu-Muslims-Sikh-Christian, had & still have many difference over many thing, but they will always agree that Mirza Ghalib was the greatest Shayar ever produced in Indian peninsula. Ghalib was not only poet of par-excellence, his prose, in his letter, is another hall mark in urdu-Parisian literature. Experts claim that Ghalib prose was enough to make him immortal but his poetry rose him to heavenly level.

Mirza Ghalib full name, along with the titles boasted upon him, was "Dabir-ul-Muq, Naim-ud-Daula Mirza Asaduallah Baig Khan (Urdu/Persian: مرزا اسد اللہ بیگ خان). But non of his lovers ever called by this name. For general public, he was simply Mirza Ghalib or Chacha Ghalib. Though we know Nehruji as Chacha Nehru but Ghalib was original Chacha of Indian public that time. 

Before Ghalib, India saw many great names in Urdu Shayari. Such as Mir Taqi Mir. During his own time there were other great name like Zauq, Momin were well recongnized. It was Last Mughal, Bahadur Shah Zafar-II at the Delhi throne. He was a powerless, a poor Emperor in terms of materialistic things. But in terms of patronage of literature, Bahadur Shah was richest among all Mughal Emperors India had. Bhahadur Shah was himself a noted name on Shero-Shayari & he used to write by pen-name "Zafar". His court was devoid of even simple luxury  But his court was illuminated by big names & jewel of Urdu poetry. But Kohinoor, among all jewels, Mirza Asaduallah Baig Khan Ghalib was not there. Thanks to court conspiracy.  

Although Ghalib was an expert in Persian language & he was proud of his poetic achievement in Persian, but he was & is famous for his Urdu Ghazals. Before Mirza Ghalib, Urdu shayari, like other poetry of the time, was generally expression of love attributed to God & under influence of Persian language, Urdu poetry was intoxicated by wine too, as an expression of Madhosi in love of God. Most of the time, it was love for physical body & wine as real wine, but society was not ripe enough to accept it. Ghalib, being rebellious, broke this shackle. He expressed not only his love for physical body, love for wine in actual life but also all type of emotions. He had philosophical approach to life like Sufi. He gave poetic words to to the expression to anguish, happiness, lust, love is real sense. He spoke the language of general public. Apart from philosophic, Ghalib expressed the travails & mysteries of life and wrote ghazal on many other subject, touching nearly all subjects, thus expending the scope of ghazal. He broke the bondage of Urdu poetry approach from "Poems about love" & expended it to "Love Poems". Soon he became darling to public. Right from village folk to urban public, nautch girls to beggars roaming in Delhi street, was singing his ghazal. But Royal Court of Bahadur Shah Zafar was far off from the sweetest smell of Urdu shayari. The Emperor wanted to extend patronage to Mirza who was living without any income, living on contribution given by friends, on unsecured loan on high interest & also some time on gambling income. Though he was darling to public but was out outcast to establishment of that day.

Mirza Qoqan Baig Khan, parental grandfather of Ghalib, moved to Delhi after Samarkand downfall of Seliuk Kings. After working in Lahor, Delhi & Jaipur he settled in Agar.  Mirza Abdullah Baig Khan, father of Ghalib, married to Umrao Begum, daughter of Mirza Qoqan Baig Khan & started to live with his in-laws in Agra. In Agra, Miraza Ghalib was bless to this couple in 1797. His father died in battle of Alwar. Then Ghalib was 5 years old. He was raised by first by his uncle Mirza Nasrullah Baig Khan. At age of thirteen, Ghalib was married to Umrao Begum, daughter of Nwab Illahi Bakhsh. Ghalib moved to Delhi soon under patronage of his father-in-law. In due course of time Ghalib couple had seven children but non of them survived. Loss of children & no steady income, except a pension of Rs. 62.50/- per month which was nothing seeing he nawabi expenditure, always weighed on his mind & reflected in his poetry. The idea that life is one continuous painful struggle which can end only when life ends, is recurring theme in his poetry. 

Yeh na thee haari khismat, koi bisaale yaar hoataa,

Agar aur jeete rahte, Yahi intizaar hoataa;  

(It was not my destiny to have a confidential companion,

Were I to live longer this world, still be longing for it;)

Ghalib was child prodigy. He started shayari, that too of highest class, at age of 11 by pen-name "Asad". Soon he discovered that an another Shayar, not a good shayar, too using the same pen name, so he decided to change his pen-name as Ghalib which means "Victorious".  He got education at young age. His master was Abdus Samad who stayed in Ghalib's father-in-law house for more than 2 years. Being highly educated, he taught Ghalib well Persian, Arabic, philosophy & logic. His relation with his wife was not at the best. She was a God-fearing, namazi & pious lady who wants to run her house hold in simple way. But Ghalib was Ghalib. Though his income was nearly nothing, he use to take heavy loan from market without thinking how to return, to fulfill his love for wine & lavish parties. He was also ladies man & never tried to hide it. At the same time he was very generous person too. He was always in front line when someone was to be helped. What so ever he was but there is no denying he was not hyprocrate but a brave man in accepting his faults. Once he was tried for non-return of loan. When the magistrate who knew Mirza very well, asked him why he took loan inspite of knowing that Allah arranges food for all. Mirza replied, as only he can reply in his imitable way that though he knew Allah arranges food for all but as He does not arrange for wine, so Mirza had to take loan. The Magistrate deposited the the fine & loan money from his own pocket as he was also lover of Mirza poetry. Soon he was arrested on gambleing charge & sent to jail. There he was more worried about "Aam season" than the misery in jail. This episode effected Ghalib moral. He had expressed it in following line :-

"Karz ki peete the main haan, samajhte the,

Rang laayegi humari faaka masti ek din;"

(I use to take loan to drink, though I knew,

One day it will bring shame on me;"

Perhaps he left drinking from that day but habits die hard. At one place he write:- 

"Ghalib' chuti sharab par ab bhi kabhi-kabhi, 

peeta hoon roj-e-abro shab-e-maahtaab mein;"

As mentioned earlier elsewhere in this post, Ghalib services was not being recognized in Royal circle due to his attitude towards "Elite Circle" & his rebellious poetry & statements. His first appearance in Royal court was disastrous one. He got angry over  Zauk's, the Master Poet of court, attitude & left the mushayara in nearly disrespectful way though the Emperor himself was presiding. His rivalry with Zauk continued in literary field. While Zauk was popular in "Elite Class & Royal Court", Ghalib was darling to general public. It is said that once he taunted Zauk openly by saying "Banna hai shaah kaa mausaahib, phire hai itaraata". It was too much for Zauk. He arranged to call Ghalib in Royal Mushayara with intention to humiliate him in front of Emperor. Zafar, the Emperor  directly asked Ghalib about that incident. Ghalib emphatically denies & stated that he was reciting last line of his new ghazal that day which Zauk misunderstood. The Emperor got angry & ordered to recite the Ghazal in his presence so that authenticity of Ghalib statement is checked. In fact there was no such ghazal written by Ghalib. But Ghalib immediately produced a Ghazal in extempore manner as below

“Har ek baat pe kahete ho ki Tu Kya Hai,

Ab tunhi kaho ey andaaz-e-guftguu kya hai; "

(Andaaz-e-Guftaguu=Talking style)

(At everything that I say, you say "Who art thou"?

Koii bataao ki vo shokh-e-tundakhuu kyaa hai;”

(karishma: Miracle, Barq: Lighting, shokh-e-tundakhuu : Mischievous/Coquettish ill tempered)

(Neither the flame has this miracle, nor the lightning the grace,

Will anyone tell me, what is that ill tampered  mischievous/coquettish one;)  

In last he completed the ghazal with that stanza like this :

"Banaa hai Shaah kaa musaahib, phire hai itaraataa,

Varnaa shahar main "Ghalib" kii aabaruu kya hai;" 

(Musaahib: Officer, Associate; Aabruu: Dignity)

(Having become the king's associate, he is putting on airs,

Otherwise what dignity does "Ghalib" have in city;) 

Though Ghalib had planned it but his brilliance, ability for extempore poetry, simple but most effective poetry, the attitude & fearless manner, won heart of all including Zauk & The Emperor. In 1850, The Emperor appointed Ghalib ad "Master Poet of the court" & conferred the tiltle of "Dabir-ul-Mulq, Naim-ud-Daula" along with good amount as pension & asked him to write history. This happened only after death of Zauq. Though Bahadur Shah was expelled out of this country & sent to Ranggon jail after 1857 war, but English masters continued the pension. 

Ghalib was not very religious minded. He always mocked traditional Mulla's way. He write:

Yaa to mujhe pine de masjid main baith kar,

Ya fir mujhe wo jagah bata, jahna Khuda na ho; 

(Either allow me to drink in Masjid itself,

Or let me know the place where God is not;)

Ghalib was a very liberal mystic who believe that search for God not limited to narrow orthodox Islam. It is not in scope of this post to give details of Ghalib's work for which volumes upon volumes have been written & continued to be written. I will quote only few his couplets. His mood use to swing from one end to other end. In deep depression he wrote:-

Zulmat kade mai mere, shab-e-ghum kaa josh hai,

Ik shammaa hai daliil-e-sahar, so khamosh hai;

(Zulmat: Darkness, Obscurity; Kada: A Place; shab-e-Ghum: Night of Sorrow; Josh: Enthusiasm, Zeal; Shamma: Lamp; Daliil: Proof, Witness; Sahar:Dawn; So: Compare too; Khamosh: Quiet)

He was very witty. After 1857 war, he was produced before English administrator. He was wearing Central Asian Turkic style headdress. The colonel, benused at his appearance, inquired in broken Urdu, "Well? You Muslim?", to which Ghalib replied, "Half" The Colonel asked "What does it mean?" In reply Ghalib said, "I drink wine, but I don't eat pork". The colonel laughed & let him go.

Ghalib always confessed his weakness for wine. He taunted himself too; He writes:

"Yeh Masail-e-Tasawwuf, Yeh tera bayaan Ghalib,

Tujhe ham wali samjhte, jo na baadakhwaar hota;"

(These profound philosphies that you profound Ghalib, We would have taken you for a saint if you were not a drunkard) 

In last lag of his life he was a broken man, seeing death, murder of his beloved friends & relatives during 1857 war. He writes: 

Rahiye ab aisi jagah chal kar jahaan koi naa ho,

Hamasukhan koi na ho, aur ham-zubaan koi na ho;"

Padiye gar bimaar to koi na ho timaar-daar,

Aur agar mar jaaiye to nauhakwaan koi naa ho;"

Kissa Missing Coal File Ka

"How asking tough questions over scams becomes National shame? I think only masters, expert in applying butter at wrong end, over zealous, over talkative, infected by verbal diarrhea, can answer it."

Case of missing coal scam related has rocked the Nation, media, general public & both Institutions of democracy. The Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha were made non functional by opposition parties mainly by BJP on whose complain CBI was forced to start investigation under supervision of The Honorable Court. The ruling party Congress, Not UPA-II, named this loss of hour in parliament as National shame. How asking tough question over scams becomes National shame is a mystery which only masters, expert  in applying butter at wrong end, over zealous, over talkative, infected by verbal diarrhea, can answer. However, in status report to the court, CBI stated that it had not been handed over some 250+ odd files related to coal-scam by Coal Ministry inspite of 1 year since first FIR was files in this case. 

This status report added fuel in already burning fire. The opposition, again read BJP as main party, raised hue-n-cry over missing files & demanded Prime Minister Sh. Man Mohan Singh, who was Coal-Minister too & it is alleged that coal scam happened during his stint as coal-minister, to issue statement in both houses of parliament. Sensing the grand kill, opposition parties were not ready to listen anyone less than PM whom ruling party never wanted to field the "Most Honest Prime Minister" India ever had. I don't know what they mean by "Most Honest Prime Minister". Does it implies that other PM s including Congress party PM like Nehruji, Indira Gandhi & Rajiv Gandhi, were not "Honest PM"? You may ask why I have left names of Lal Bahadur Shastri & PV Narsingha Rao's names? I left their name because Congress hardly recognizes them as their Party's PM.

To ward off this sheathing attack, ruling party devised a new but evil analogy of missing files just to fool Nation as general & embarrass BJP & its partners in NDA in particular. 

They categorized all missing files into two parts :

1. 150+ Files related to period from 1991 to 2004: they very conveniently forget that this period too can be divided in to two part i.e.  1991-1998 when there was Congress government or  Congress supporter government at the centre. 
2. Rest Files from 2004 till the cases are under investigation.

What so ever be the case, it is duty of current government to keep files safe as maintenance of file is duty of bureaucracy which is a permanent cadre unlike governments which changes from time to time. It is just impossible that NDA took away all Coal related file along with them after they lost 2004 elections. It is not done Boss.

I remained part of government bureaucracy for 39 years. So I know by heart that government filing system is foolproof. Every Unit officer, lowest to highest, maintains files & keep records of its movement. Every File has two part. A) Numbered like 1/N..x/N Note Sheets, which is tagged at the left side of the file & on which all proposal, observations, recommendations & approvals are done by different level of authorities. B) At right hand side all other papers related to circulars, proposals, applications, requested & final orders are numbered are tagged & numbered like 1/C..x/C. Every paper on right side of file is noted on Note sheet. It movement is maintained at a register which is kept with Dak Receipt Clark. So if any file goes missing, it can be easily traced out at which end it was last seen. Mind you, a higher officer never becomes a party in "File Missing Case". If he has intention to do so, he will adopt some other method like "Lost in transit". But then again you can't imagine a truck load files goes on missing in "Transit". No? 

There are some other provision too in case of lost/missing file. If somehow or other, any file goes missing, a "Kw" file is created immediately & a "Search Memo" is circulated to all sections & departments with request to search file in their section, if found, return to Memo issuing authority & if not found there & if they have any paper related to this file, an "Authenticated Copy"(Attested photocopy) of those papers may be sent immediately. All offices are bound to take action over "Search Memo" & reply even if the Missing File is not pertained to their section or they have no paper related to this "Missing File". Now, in light of above narrations, it is just nearly impossible to miss a file what to say of 250+ files.

Let me tell you my observation, this is not case of missing files. This is case of "Criminal Conspiracy" to provide time to correct mistakes in the files & other related matters. Once the required corrections are made, Files will appear. I may be wrong too though hopefully I am not.

While CBI & Coal-Ministry & Government defenders were busy to defending in attacking mode, believing attack is the best defence, they forget one thing very important. This is such a fact which will puncture their all claims. Only a year & half or so, the Great Coal-Ministry provided photocopies of all files to CAG for its study & scrutiny. Again a Government rule :: All photocopies of files or papers when sent to other department are "Authenticated" or in simple word "Attested" by the concerned unit officer. So if CBI which is claimed to be free from Government pressure & working independently, why it has not taken copies of these photocopies of files from CAG & completed its investigation? Again the same observation, this is not case of missing files. This is case of "Criminal Conspiracy" to provide time to correct mistakes in the files & other related matters. Once the required corrections are made, Files will appear.

Will CBI dare to tke copies of the files from CAG & investigate fairly? Will Government dare to see beyond Party line? Will our "Most Honest PM" keep India first? Will these Arm-Chair-Expert leaders go beyond "Zero Loss"? These are few questions which general public is asking now. If not answered satisfactorily, Public is bound to announce its Charge-Sheet & punishment in up coming elections.

Food Security Bill-Just a Vote Trap

"Food Security Bill will require 60+ metric ton grain heavily subsidized to serve 800 million public who will be entitle to get grains under this scheme. It may require 125 lakh Crore rupees every year. Is it too much money?? Yes it is but less than a single coal scam."

With hardly anything positive, reeling under scams after scam, high rate of price rise, down-down economic growth, drifting investors, fiscal & current account deficit highest ever, growth rate at lowest ever, multiple expose, eroded government credibility added to injury, a PM who does not speak & ministers/spokesperson who don’t stop speaking, ever reluctant Yuvraj, stronger opposition, Congress shall be seeking third consecutive term at the centre under leadership of Sonia Gandhi. It may be desperately hoping that Food Security Bill will help it to win the electorate much like National Rural Employment Guarantee or Farmer Loan Wavier Scheme had helped her to win second term in 2009.

The first test of much hyped UPA’s Congress ambitious Food Security Bill will be in November this year when four states, Congress ruled Delhi & Rajasthan & BJP ruled Chatisgarh & Madhy Pradesh are thrown in election battle. With country reeling under miss governance, nearly absent government at centre, serial scams, high price rise, onion bring tears in general public’s eyes, falling rupee & stock market, lawlessness in Congress & its allies ruled states, Food Security Bill & Direct Cash Transfer benefit Scheme will be facing litmus test in November itself.

It may require 125 lakh Crore rupees every year. Is it too much money?? Yes it is but less than a single coal scam. What so ever it may be, FSB has to be implemented at all cost. Within Congress there are different views for Food Security Bill. While a big group lead by Sonia Gandhi believe that Food Security Bill is very much required, not for poor people of India but for Congress to win the election. So what so ever cost the country has to face, Food Security Bill has got to be passed in Lok Sabha & if not possible to implement it through ordinance. Actually ordinance has already been promulgated for Food Security Bill & bill is pending in Lok Sabha where opposition is opposing, asking amendments in the bill so that Congress does not take all credit of Food Security Bill. Sonia is not ready to give any credit not even to its allies what to say of opposition. Its IT section has already made big plan to take full advantage of this bill. But with Congress itself there is a group who think this bill not good for economy of country & to poor people too in long run. But as you know when election is at head who pays heed to fair & honest opinion.

The main question is will FSB prove to be gain changer as Sonia Gandhi & her general are hoping or it is being brought too late that too in most cumbersome manner to satisfy public who is frustrated over the act of omission & commission of this defunct government. Though Congress may be desperate & praying that this bill too works as previous bills worked in 2009 but it is not realizing that public is smart enough to judge what action is brought for their welfare & what action is brought just to make them fool for vote purpose.

Now problem is that though you may call this bill as pro poor but if you look into it with eyes in future, you will find many faults. At on hand UPA-II reduced subsidiaries in petrol & diesel on the plea that after all it is public who pay for these subsidiaries in indirect way. On other hand it is bringing FSB who subsidiaries too shall be paid by public only in indirect manner, unless & until scam money is voluntarily disclosed by these high placed people.  It’s argument for FSB are all falling flat not only because they are against common sense but also due to the fact the credibility of this government is at the lowest.

So what is wrong with this bill? Here are few points:

•  Sonia Gandhi & his arm-chair-experts General claim that FSB was in its election manifesto. If it was, why Sonia led Congress waited for four long years to bring this bill & when they brought the bill they are in so much hurry that they want to get it passed without proper discussion in the house.

• In last few years there were reports that grain is getting rotted at godowns at different places due to lack of proper up keeping. It was suggested upon that if government does not has proper facilities to store grains, would it not be more prudent to distribute the surplus grain among the poor free or at low cost? Shard Pawar, Minister in charge, replied that distribution of surplus grain among poor shall set a bad precedent & also it may have telling effect on government treasure. The Sonia Gandhi never intervened & thought of bringing FSB. 

• There are few models already working in different states very successfully. Centre never took finer points of those models to incorporate in FSB to make it more effective.   

We must consider why & under what circumstances, Congress led by Sonia Gandhi is so desperate to bring this bill.

• Since birth of UPA-II, as mentioned in this post, the government is facing one scam after other scam. One scam hardly dies, a new scam start showing its face from coffin.

• It is fighting its own demon inside & outside party. Partners are asking pound of the flash.

• Arm-Chair-Experts are making Pi-Chart to show country’s progress & property which has taken full beating.

• Man Mohan Singh who is their parliamentary leader never speaks even when he is required to speak.

• His ministers & spokespersons never stop from speaking without any insight, use filthiest arrogant word & think only their speech at nation TV & conference will win election for them.

• They have forgotten their own goal & to stop Modi is only agenda for them.

• Not secularism but appeasement of Muslim population has become their only agenda. They think only if Muslim voters are polarized, they can win election.

• Middle Class which supported them in 2004 & 2009 has moved away due to high price rise, inconsistence economic policies, unclear road map, policy paralysis, unstoppable national resources plunder by high & powerful, indifferent bureaucracy, Chine-Pakaistan uninterrupted intrusion in our border & government inability to stop it, down-down stock market, falling rupee value & above all rise of Narendra Modi as new hope for middle class including young generation.

• Rahul Gandhi, the Congress vice president, & their only hope is too busy with interior decoration while his house is on fire. Sonia Gandhi’s ‘pro-poor’ image has taken too much beating to counter Narendra Modi’s ‘pro-development’ image.

• The commercialisation of powerful political party positions and political blackmailing of various kinds has weakened the Congress from the inside in the last few years. His critics say Rahul lacks priority and doesn’t recognise the urgency of the times. When the house is on fire, his detractors say, you can't focus on the interior decoration. 

• Meanwhile, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is breathing down the neck of the Gandhi family and the Congress. Though infact, the Modi factor is also helping the Congress to shift focus from the scams and failures of governance to portraying the coming big fight as a battle of secularism versus communalism. 

If we take all above factors combined with other factors which can’t be discussed due to limitation of a blog post, it is most unlikely FSB will help congress much in upcoming election. All recent surveys are too indicating the same.

But…But…But… Congress is very old party. It knows how to fight elections though it has forgotten the method to fight corruption & other evils of the society & BJP’s traditional inability to cash on the situation & their infighting over prime-ministerial candidate, over ambitious regional parties & their leaders may pave way to UPA-III too.
